There is nothing quite like the bond that’s possible between young children and their caregivers! Every child is so different, so it makes sense that the relationship you build with each one requires something unique. It’s incredibly rewarding to work towards that connection together. There are some kids who naturally gravitate towards new people and places, and it’s so fun to help them find their passions and foster friendships. But for some children, it can be difficult to come out of their shells because they’re in a totally new environment. I’ve worked in daycares for years (and volunteered at my mother’s, so caregiving runs in the family) in addition to having three kids of my own, so I have a lot of experience to draw from when it comes to creating a safe space that’s going to help all kids (even the shyest ones) thrive. It’s so rewarding to build trust and to grow a relationship that makes each kid feel heard, understood, and supported as they work towards their own independence.
There is so much for children to discover about the world around them! Our daily activities really revolve around engaging with each other and following our curiosity. Circle time is a great opportunity for teaching moments: we focus all our attention on learning something new together. There is also tons of time allotted to sensory play, because the kids really love this chance to kickstart their imagination while also using their senses to explore. We spend as much time as possible in the backyard, playing and exercising in the sunshine. Another favorite activity is dancing! The children can get their energy out, express themselves, and get comfortable in their bodies.
The children in my program are so loved and cared for. There is nothing more important than their wellbeing and happiness. The kids here will be treated as though they were my own. Our collective goal is to create a warm and nurturing environment, so the children have the space and comfort to grow into their independent selves! At this program, we honor everyone’s strengths and individuality. One way we do this is by making birthdays extra special, but really, every day is a chance to celebrate their uniqueness!

“A child must know that they are a miracle, that since the beginning of the world there hasn’t been, and until the end of the world there will not be, another child like them.”
~ Pablo CasalsDaycare rates depend on how old your child will be and what your schedule looks like. 5 days / week might get a slight discount, and infant rates are usually more than toddlers’. Finding a spot also depends on age and schedule because each daycare has a limited number of openings for each age range.

Your family is unique to you, but some of your questions might not be. 😉 Here’s what most parents want to know when starting out.
Most first-time parents don’t know exactly what they’re looking for, so we created a simple survey that will ask you questions about your lifestyle, your daily routines, and your preferences for child care. We’ll then share 3 personalized recommendations that we think might be a good fit. We’ll also give you a timeline that maps out when we would suggest you start touring programs, choose a daycare, and pay a deposit to secure a spot. Your timeline is based on when you want to start care - so you set the pace, and you decide when you’ve found the right match.
Nope. Our daycare recommendation service is free for parents. The other half of our business is helping these small-scale daycares with software and services that handle all their administrative tasks, like online contracting, payment processing, and licensing requirements. Before NeighborSchools, services like these were only designed for large corporate child care centers, and part of our mission is to level the playing field for small, independent child care programs. That’s why we picked the name NeighborSchools - we’re all about making child care more personal, more human, and more equitable for the incredible individuals who do this work and care for our children.
Generally, if you’re here, you’re ready. The survey lets us give you 3 recommendations to consider, but it’ll also help you better understand what factors to consider, and what questions to be asking right now. It’s simple things like where you live, your child’s date of birth, when you want to start care, and if you have any preferences around program philosophy or language of instruction. If you’re planning 6+ months ahead, it’s a great way to get started, and if you’re hoping to start daycare in the next 2-4 months, it’s definitely time to get started. Click here to start the survey.
Each program has a limited number of spots for each age range, so we need to know your schedule and child’s age before we can share availability. The survey covers these basics, as well as factors like drop-off and pick-up times to make sure that recommended programs fit your daily routine. Once we know your child’s age and schedule we can share rates and costs as well.
We’re online Monday - Friday from 8am to 6pm Eastern.
