I'm a mother to two wonderful daughters, and I've always cared for the children in my family and community. When the pandemic hit and families were turning to me, I realized the opportunity was right in front of me. I had to open my own family child care to do what I love and serve my neighborhood! I started working with children as a special education teacher in my home 6 years ago, and I have been caring for children ever since. Opening my own child care program in my home gave me the opportunity to create the encouraging, friendly environment that I think is so important. I especially love to sing and dance with them, but the truth is that so many parts of the day and the week bring me a lot of joy. Through it all, I focus on helping children work through challenges. One of the best parts of working with children is watching them learn and grow. It's such a gift to guide the children in my program as they grow.
The progress that young children can make in such a short time is remarkable. Itâs inspiring to watch them grow, retain new knowledge, and hone their skills. Working with kids has been a lifelong love of mineâespecially after helping with two stepchildren and three grandkids! In 2014, I got licensed to open a daycare, and every day since has been filled with beautiful new experiences. The kids in this program will learn so much in their time here, and my hope is that they also pick up important life lessons. Theyâll gain confidence, independence, and a sense of self here, too. Every child wears these qualities differently, and itâs really nice to know you had a small part in helping them become this version of themselves.
I am so passionate about early childhood education! I worked with children as an early childhood educator in daycare centers for thirteen years in Albanian. I have experience working with special needs children. Opening my own child care program in my home gave me the opportunity to create the nurturing, happy environment that I think is so important. I especially love to crawl around with them on the floor, but the truth is that so many parts of the day and the week bring me a lot of joy. Through it all, I focus on giving children personalized attention. One of the best parts of working with children is that they all need love and care. The work is incredibly rewarding, especially when I think about helping so many children work through their individual challenges and achieve personal gains. It's such a gift to guide the children in my program as they grow.
Daycare programs are all about community. I began working with kids by helping family members when I was in high school, and I loved being able to be there for relatives in this way. The thing I like best about having my own program is creating an environment where children can learn from me, but also from each other. I have seen how much my son has grown from being around friends his age at his own school and this has inspired me so much in my own program!

Your family is unique to you, but some of your questions might not be. đ Hereâs what most parents want to know when starting out.
Most first-time parents donât know exactly what theyâre looking for, so we created a simple survey that will ask you questions about your lifestyle, your daily routines, and your preferences for child care. Weâll then share 3 personalized recommendations that we think might be a good fit. Weâll also give you a timeline that maps out when we would suggest you start touring programs, choose a daycare, and pay a deposit to secure a spot. Your timeline is based on when you want to start care - so you set the pace, and you decide when youâve found the right match.
Nope. Our daycare recommendation service is free for parents. The other half of our business is helping these small-scale daycares with software and services that handle all their administrative tasks, like online contracting, payment processing, and licensing requirements. Before NeighborSchools, services like these were only designed for large corporate child care centers, and part of our mission is to level the playing field for small, independent child care programs. Thatâs why we picked the name NeighborSchools - weâre all about making child care more personal, more human, and more equitable for the incredible individuals who do this work and care for our children.
Generally, if youâre here, youâre ready. The survey lets us give you 3 recommendations to consider, but itâll also help you better understand what factors to consider, and what questions to be asking right now. Itâs simple things like where you live, your childâs date of birth, when you want to start care, and if you have any preferences around program philosophy or language of instruction. If youâre planning 6+ months ahead, itâs a great way to get started, and if youâre hoping to start daycare in the next 2-4 months, itâs definitely time to get started. Click here to start the survey.
Each program has a limited number of spots for each age range, so we need to know your schedule and childâs age before we can share availability. The survey covers these basics, as well as factors like drop-off and pick-up times to make sure that recommended programs fit your daily routine. Once we know your childâs age and schedule we can share rates and costs as well.
Weâre online Monday - Friday from 8am to 6pm Eastern.
Take the survey and get 3 daycare recommendations that fit your preferences. Takes 5 minutes and itâs 100% free for parents.
