Children are always reaching new milestones. At this stage, every day brings new discoveries and skills and connections. There is no better feeling than watching a child gain confidence and be proud of what they’ve accomplished. As an older child, I often helped my mother take care of my siblings. I was always there to cheer them on and root for them. The kids in this program hopefully feel that same support. In fact, we even have achievement award parties sometimes to celebrate everyone’s growth!

Experience is so important when working with young children. I began working with kids by babysitting for nieces and nephews as a teenager and spending time with foster children in my family home - and from then to now, I have loved being around little ones! All that time spent caring for family taught me so much about child development and what kids need to learn and grow. Being able to use that knowledge in my own home daycare program to create a wonderful place for kids to spend their days is really special – and so is being part of so many milestones and growth moments every day.
Every child is a unique being with a spirit that radiates love and divine purpose! My daycare program nurtures and guides children to develop that spirit and let it grow even stronger. My journey as a daycare provider really began with taking care of the children in my own family - but this soon turned into something more, and I found myself called to create a beautiful, peaceful place where children are encouraged to be creative and expressive in their own unique ways. Word spread throughout my community - and this is how my program began! It makes me so happy to say that in my home program, every child is valued and cherished for who they are.
Kids learn so much from being around other kids their age! As a former kindergarten teacher, I know this from ten years of classroom experience! I also know just how to create a place where young kids of all ages can learn new things every day. Teaching children what they need to know to grow is the best part of what I do, and I love every minute of it. I have a first grader of my own – and every child I care for in my program becomes part of our family too. My daycare kids and their families mean so much to me!
Every child is unique, and when you work with kids it’s important to be flexible! I always take time to get to know a child’s personality, energy level, and interests so I can connect to them and understand how they learn. I fine-tuned that flexible approach while working as a babysitter in my community and raising my own three children. I love to teach kids new things, and our space is set up with specialized areas for learning, snacks and meals, and activities. Kids are busy, engaged, and happy here, and that makes me happy too!
Ms. Reyna’s home daycare caters to infants and toddlers, ages 6 months–6 years. As with every daycare on NeighborSchools, her program is licensed by the Office of Children and Family Services. Childcare has been part of my life for as long as I can remember – my mother was a childcare provider, so I grew up around kids of all ages! My program is friendly and I go out of my way to work with parents so that there is a strong connection between the home and my daycare program. The environment here is one where children are learning every day in lots of different ways. This is what I love most about what I do – encouraging children and being part of their growth.
Young children deserve the world! It is such a privilege to spend time with them, to help them learn, and to find out what makes them happy. There is nothing like that lightbulb moment when a child is excited about a new project or figures out a skill they’ve been working on. Their smiles are what we strive for! Every kid is so unique, and they should be celebrated like the young kings and queens they are.
Children have strong, individual personalities, and it’s such a pleasure to get to know them each. After raising children of my own and working at other daycares, I can certainly say that no two kids are alike, and it’s a joy to figure out their passions and dreams with them. A daycare program is also likely one of the earliest social settings for young children, and it’s an amazing chance for them to interact with kids their own age. So many children make their first real friends at daycare. It’s a beautiful thing to watch a friendship unfold!
Daycare programs can really broaden a child’s horizons! I offer a Yiddish immersion program that is inclusive and welcoming to all. We have a special community here, and I have many years of experience working with kids. I got my license in 2008 as a public-school teacher and have been teaching in informal and formal settings for over a decade – and I have a two-year-old child and another on the way. Giving kids many different opportunities to learn and grow is what motivates me every day!
It takes a village to raise a child. I am so happy to give families a place to bring their children every day where they will learn from me and peers their age. I love being around little ones! I’ve been a babysitter for a lot of my life and also worked with autistic kids in a school setting. In both of those jobs I treated every child with lots of care, like they were my own! I love having my own business, and my mother and sister help with my daycare, so kids get plenty of one-on-one attention here!
Working with children takes a special kind of person. I am patient, welcoming, and understanding, and work hard to make sure my daycare kids’ needs are always met! My mother-in-law runs her own daycare and has taught me a lot about how successful programs work. She has been a great mentor and inspired me to open my own program. I'm so happy to be able to spend each and every day helping kids and families in my community!
Every child is exceptional in their own way! In my program, we implement diverse learning activities to meet the needs of every child and keep them engaged. We also work closely with parents to support learning and development, and enjoy the challenge of creating activities for kids of all ages, so that no child is left behind! After having my first child in 2012 and discovering childcare as my true passion, I decided to pursue a degree in early childhood special education. I wanted to build my knowledge, assist little ones who are not yet able to express themselves, and be a useful tool in my community. My passion has only grown stronger since then, and I have treated every child who has come into my home in the past nine years with love and care.
Being around children every day is so much fun! I stumbled upon my career by accident – I’d been working with older children in New York City when I found myself in a toddler classroom one day and couldn’t believe how much imagination and energy was flying around the room! That day was a turning point for me, one that led to a master’s degree in early childhood education, a teaching certificate, and ten plus years of childcare - and counting!. I’m so grateful that I ended up in that classroom that day - working with young children is so rewarding and such a perfect fit for me.
Young children are so enthusiastic! They are able to take in new information and learn new skills so quickly. It’s a wonder to be around! There was one child in particular who I nannied for who seemed really interested in art at a young age. One day, we got paints and I taught him how to make a picture. He really enjoyed learning in this hands-on way, and he was so excited to show his family what he had created! It was a small moment of independence for him because he couldn’t believe he made it himself. We’re all about celebrating these steps at my program. There is nothing quite like that moment when a child realizes what they are capable of.
Whether the child is an infant or nearly in grade school, their unique personalities and approaches to life inspire me in a different way. Each child I have had the pleasure of caring for has inspired me to help the next generation and help them flourish into the best version of themselves. There is nothing more rewarding than being a part of that process. Watching my own three children grow up was my most intense experience of this, but I quickly gained experienced nannying infants in my neighborhood and then worked in a school with children 6 and under as well.
It’s important to be loving and patient with kids, and these are two things that come naturally to me! When I started my program, I always knew that my first priority would be to show children love – and that learning and growth would follow. Having a small program means I have time to get to know each child and create personalized learning experiences. My program is a home away from home for my daycare kids, and that is so special to me!
Young children have this magical ability to make a neighborhood feel like a real community. To go one step further, they can sometimes make a community feel like a family! Kids have such a genuine sense of care and kindness, and that warm energy is so beautiful to be around. A dedication to quality childcare is actually a family business. Many of my relatives own their own daycares, so I have spent my whole life seeing the success of small daycare centers. In fact, I actually went to college for Early Childhood Education. Running my own daycare has been a dream of mine. It’s a great way to offer local kids the attention and education they deserve while also serving our community!
Young children have so many incredible experiences in front of them. It’s such a pleasure to help introduce them to the world. At daycare, kids make remarkable progress in their everyday lives: making new friends, learning new words, creating something in arts and crafts that they’re really proud of. Knowing that they reached these milestones in an environment you created, under your guidance, is so rewarding. A love of children and caregiving runs in my family. My mom owned a daycare, and I’ve basically always been surrounded by children. Hopefully the children and families in this program feel the love of these generations!
I have been teaching children for more than 20 years, and I love to create an atmosphere where children are happy, confident, and independent.
My family has been in childcare for many years and it’s just been so natural for me to follow in those footsteps! My mother has her own daycare, and many of my other family members work with children too. I have learned so much from them about how to create a wonderful learning environment and give kids the very best care. I have a five-year-old daughter and love being part of so much growth and development every day!

Childcare is a vocation that runs in my family! I have an aunt who is an educator and has her own program. Helping out in her daycare was my first job at age fifteen, and over the past seven years I’ve taken on a more official role. I also have two kids of my own now – and working in a daycare setting for so many years and raising my own children has given me a deep understanding about how to encourage kids, teach them life skills, and help them grow.

Working with kids is just what I love to do, and it has been since my very first babysitting job, when I was fifteen! After twenty-five years working in daycare and preschool settings, I am so excited to have my own program and to be completing a teaching degree this year. I have six adult children that I’m so proud of – and I really believe in building children up to be the best they can be. I do this with all the little ones in my life, because I want kids to feel cared for and confident so they can learn and grow.

Get your own recommendations based on your preferences, daily routine, and what matters most to you.
Your family is unique to you, but some of your questions might not be. 😉 Here’s what most parents want to know when starting out.
Most first-time parents don’t know exactly what they’re looking for, so we created a simple survey that will ask you questions about your lifestyle, your daily routines, and your preferences for child care. We’ll then share 3 personalized recommendations that we think might be a good fit. We’ll also give you a timeline that maps out when we would suggest you start touring programs, choose a daycare, and pay a deposit to secure a spot. Your timeline is based on when you want to start care - so you set the pace, and you decide when you’ve found the right match.
Nope. Our daycare recommendation service is free for parents. The other half of our business is helping these small-scale daycares with software and services that handle all their administrative tasks, like online contracting, payment processing, and licensing requirements. Before NeighborSchools, services like these were only designed for large corporate child care centers, and part of our mission is to level the playing field for small, independent child care programs. That’s why we picked the name NeighborSchools - we’re all about making child care more personal, more human, and more equitable for the incredible individuals who do this work and care for our children.
Generally, if you’re here, you’re ready. The survey lets us give you 3 recommendations to consider, but it’ll also help you better understand what factors to consider, and what questions to be asking right now. It’s simple things like where you live, your child’s date of birth, when you want to start care, and if you have any preferences around program philosophy or language of instruction. If you’re planning 6+ months ahead, it’s a great way to get started, and if you’re hoping to start daycare in the next 2-4 months, it’s definitely time to get started. Click here to start the survey.
Each program has a limited number of spots for each age range, so we need to know your schedule and child’s age before we can share availability. The survey covers these basics, as well as factors like drop-off and pick-up times to make sure that recommended programs fit your daily routine. Once we know your child’s age and schedule we can share rates and costs as well.
We’re online Monday - Friday from 8am to 6pm Eastern.
Take the survey and get 3 daycare recommendations that fit your preferences. Takes 5 minutes and it’s 100% free for parents.
