Small-scale child care in Worcester

When smaller is better, home daycare is the best. Find great options for infants & toddlers near you.

Ms. Christine

Play-Based Learning

The best part of being a daycare provider is caring for and nurturing so many amazing children. There is nothing more rewarding, and the relationships that form with families are a special added bonus! Kids learn so much in my program, while having fun and spending time with friends. My home is a place where kids can be kids – and I am there to guide them with the same patience and love I gave to my own three children. Having a home full of joyful kids and supporting families in my community is just wonderful.

Ms. Aguinaria

Play-Based Learning

Every child has their own personality and their own unique gifts. In my daycare, I encourage kids to develop those gifts! I started my program when I had my first child. I knew I wanted to be home with him, and I enjoyed it so much I decided to extend child care to families in my community. Helping others while doing something I love is so rewarding! I have had three more children since then, and my daycare family has grown a lot too – but one thing hasn’t changed - I still love being around young kids and helping them grow.

Ms. Cindy

Great Outdoor Space

A home daycare should be a warm, positive, safe environment for fun and learning. I've been working with children for forty-two years in a family childcare setting, and I’m also a certified medical assistant with some experience with early intervention. Children have always been a huge part of my life - I raised four children and three foster children who are all adults now – and I wouldn’t have it any other way! I teach children so many things - from academics to social/emotional skills - and I’m continuously inspired by the progress they make toward their goals and by how much they learn and grow every day!

Ms. Romeyre

Play-Based Learning

I've been working with the little ones since I was little myself! Everything about nurturing children fills me with such joy. I have a trilingual (English, Spanish, Portuguese) program where they play, learn, and thrive! I’m a mom of two and have been working with children in my home for over 2 years. Opening my own child care program in my home gave me the opportunity to create the welcoming, comfortable environment that I think is so important. I especially love to watch them express themselves, but the truth is that so many parts of the day and the week bring me a lot of joy. Through it all, I focus on learning through play. One of the best parts of working with children is watching them learn and grow. The work is incredibly rewarding, especially when I think about all the children I've helped grow and learn. It's such a gift to guide the children in my program as they mature.

Ms. Evelyn

Play-Based Learning

I have 15 years of experience taking care of young children. For me, one of the best parts of working with children is watching them learn and grow. I feel so fortunate to experience that every day and to share my skills and experience with families through my home-based child care program, where I focus on building independence. I aim to create an environment that is friendly and comfortable for the children I care about so much. So many parts of this job are fun, but I especially love to read books to them. I can't imagine spending my days any other way. I’m also proud to do this important work. That’s especially true when I think about all the children I've helped grow and learn.

Ms. Myrna

Play-Based Learning

First I am a mother, I love children, taking care of children suit my personality. I love to see them grow, learn new things, and develop under my care. I particularly enjoy creating inviting play spaces around children’s interests and observing them explore and discover meaningful experiences. It’s also about the love of learning, the curiosity and the joy that come from the children, and you get to be a part of that experience. I love that I can help support other parents by caring for their children while they are at work or in school. Working with children has numerous advantages, you are the witness of so many wonderful firsts, you see so many smiles, you also learn from them, you have so much fun with them and it makes my heart happy.

Ms. Kelsiany

Small Class Sizes

Young children are a constant surprise! No matter how many years you spend working with kids, you’ll find that every single one of them is so different. This program was born partially out of a desire to spend more quality time getting to know and raising my own 2-year-old daughter. She’s learned so much from her older brothers (ages 9 and 17), and it’s made me realize how much children benefit from being around one another. I wanted to create the best possible environment for her and other children in our neighborhood to grow up in. It’s just an absolute joy getting to know them as people, particularly through their learning processes and the kinds of things they create during our time together.

Ms. Lidia

Arts & Music

Children have so much to offer. They are naturally so enthusiastic about learning new things, and that curiosity is so fun to be around. Each child also has their own strengths and interests and things they can teach each other! It’s beautiful to see the friendships they form at this age. Also, anyone who has looked after kids before can tell you that they teach us just as much as we teach them. After helping take care of my nieces and nephews and raising four children of my own, it’s become very clear that each individual child has something so special to share with the world. They are a constant inspiration.

Ms. Brooke

Play-Based Learning

When a child discovers something new for the first time, they just light up! That spark of wonder is something educators are able to keep alive. I’ve always wanted to become a teacher, and that led me to early education. After working in preschools and becoming a mother, I decided to open my own daycare so I could work closely with kids and help them find the things they are most passionate about.

Let’s find a really good daycare for you

Get your own recommendations based on your preferences, daily routine, and what matters most to you.

Your family is unique to you, but some of your questions might not be. 😉 Here’s what most parents want to know when starting out.

What is NeighborSchools?

Hey there, nice to meet you 👋 We’re a new-ish startup that helps new-ish parents find daycare.

We know how hard finding good child care can be - especially for first-time parents. But really good care is what gives you the peace of mind to go back to work and feel confident that your child is getting the stimulation, socialization, and support they need to learn and grow.

So we created NeighborSchools to make this piece of parenthood a whole lot easier. We say “easier” because, let’s be honest, it’s still a big thing to figure out, but working together we can help you find some good options, understand the whole process, and choose a program you’ll feel really good about.

Most first-time parents don’t know exactly what they’re looking for, so we created a simple survey that will ask you questions about your lifestyle, your daily routines, and your preferences for child care. We’ll then share 3 personalized recommendations that we think might be a good fit. We’ll also give you a timeline that maps out when we would suggest you start touring programs, choose a daycare, and pay a deposit to secure a spot. Your timeline is based on when you want to start care - so you set the pace, and you decide when you’ve found the right match.

Nope. Our daycare recommendation service is free for parents. The other half of our business is helping these small-scale daycares with software and services that handle all their administrative tasks, like online contracting, payment processing, and licensing requirements. Before NeighborSchools, services like these were only designed for large corporate child care centers, and part of our mission is to level the playing field for small, independent child care programs. That’s why we picked the name NeighborSchools - we’re all about making child care more personal, more human, and more equitable for the incredible individuals who do this work and care for our children.

Generally, if you’re here, you’re ready. The survey lets us give you 3 recommendations to consider, but it’ll also help you better understand what factors to consider, and what questions to be asking right now. It’s simple things like where you live, your child’s date of birth, when you want to start care, and if you have any preferences around program philosophy or language of instruction. If you’re planning 6+ months ahead, it’s a great way to get started, and if you’re hoping to start daycare in the next 2-4 months, it’s definitely time to get started. Click here to start the survey.

Each program has a limited number of spots for each age range, so we need to know your schedule and child’s age before we can share availability. The survey covers these basics, as well as factors like drop-off and pick-up times to make sure that recommended programs fit your daily routine. Once we know your child’s age and schedule we can share rates and costs as well.

More questions? Text or email - we’re here to help.

We’re online Monday - Friday from 8am to 6pm Eastern.
