I was born and raised in Haverhill, MA and have had my family childcare program out of my home there since 1998. I have many qualifications and have been involved with family child care since the late 1980s, when I took a child study course in high school. In this course, we assisted preschool and kindergarten teachers and I fell in love with working with children. After high school, I pursued and earned an undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education. I have been a licensed family child care provider through EEC for 21 years. I am certified in first aid and CPR, I have my Child Development Associate (CDA), am an Early HeadStart Educator, a Safe Sleep Ambassador, and a member of the National Child Care Association (NCCA). I have two children of my own, who are now 26 and 28, and have two grandchildren who are four months and seven years old. I enjoy working with children to foster their growth and development. I love how curious, innocent, and willing to learn the children are. I am excited to be partnered with NeighborSchools to spread the word about my program.
I began my family child care program in 1998 and have been a licensed family child care provider through the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) for 21 years. I currently can enroll 8 children at a time. My program is unique in that I’m especially focused on getting the children to the next level of play, preparing them to enter into school as kind, compassionate, respectful, and empathetic individuals, and we are mostly all-natural, leaving aside plastic, flashing lights toys, and emphasize books and outdoor playtime.
My home is sectioned off for various activities. We have a reading area, a play area, a block area, manipulative toy area, and a table in the kitchen set up for meals, arts and crafts, and any individual work I do with the children to help them grow developmentally. It is also situated that even if I’m working with one child in the kitchen, I can still keep an eye on everyone! My home has a fenced in yard to offer freedom of movement and to develop gross motor skills!

~ Albert EinsteinHere’s the inside scoop from other parents that have worked with Ms. Julie.
I enrolled my son with Julie when he was 2 ½ months old and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my son's care. My son is now 4 and still attends Julie's daycare. Since day one Julie has been a tremendous piece of the village that has raised my son. I have communicated with her daily about my son's progression and developmental milestones. I have observed Julie in her care giving role and appreciate her for her patience, consistency with the children, her nurturing attitude and her passion for early childhood education. Julie's years of experience shine through every day with her knowledge of child development and her guidance on necessary step to take to assist your child in growth and the ability to learn social, emotional and communication skills.
When looking for childcare, I wanted to place my daughter with someone who I could trust. After meeting Julie and learning about her program, I knew my daughter would be very well cared for. Julie has been a huge help in the positive growth and development of my child. She utilizes the ASQ screening to make sure my daughter is meeting all of her developmental milestones. Julie allows independent play, manipulation of natural toys, and exploration of her environment to teach my daughter. Through this independence, Julie helps the children boost their self-image, which makes them confident, compassionate, and ready for Kindergarten! I recommend Julie’s Daycare to everyone!
My daughter is now 14 and started with Julie when she was a few months old. Both of my children were in Julie's program. Julie really teaches - she is not a babysitter. Both of my children were ready for kindergarten when they left her program. Not only that, but they developed such good morals and grew so much - their manners were excellent, too. She is always accommodating and always there for the children and their families. She is just SO great!
Daycare rates depend on how old your child will be and what your schedule looks like. 5 days / week might get a slight discount, and infant rates are usually more than toddlers’. Finding a spot also depends on age and schedule because each daycare has a limited number of openings for each age range.

There are 8 home daycares in Haverhill. Most care for 6 to 10 children and take both infants and toddlers. All home daycares are licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care, just like preschool centers.

Your family is unique to you, but some of your questions might not be. 😉 Here’s what most parents want to know when starting out.
Most first-time parents don’t know exactly what they’re looking for, so we created a simple survey that will ask you questions about your lifestyle, your daily routines, and your preferences for child care. We’ll then share 3 personalized recommendations that we think might be a good fit. We’ll also give you a timeline that maps out when we would suggest you start touring programs, choose a daycare, and pay a deposit to secure a spot. Your timeline is based on when you want to start care - so you set the pace, and you decide when you’ve found the right match.
Nope. Our daycare recommendation service is free for parents. The other half of our business is helping these small-scale daycares with software and services that handle all their administrative tasks, like online contracting, payment processing, and licensing requirements. Before NeighborSchools, services like these were only designed for large corporate child care centers, and part of our mission is to level the playing field for small, independent child care programs. That’s why we picked the name NeighborSchools - we’re all about making child care more personal, more human, and more equitable for the incredible individuals who do this work and care for our children.
Generally, if you’re here, you’re ready. The survey lets us give you 3 recommendations to consider, but it’ll also help you better understand what factors to consider, and what questions to be asking right now. It’s simple things like where you live, your child’s date of birth, when you want to start care, and if you have any preferences around program philosophy or language of instruction. If you’re planning 6+ months ahead, it’s a great way to get started, and if you’re hoping to start daycare in the next 2-4 months, it’s definitely time to get started. Click here to start the survey.
Each program has a limited number of spots for each age range, so we need to know your schedule and child’s age before we can share availability. The survey covers these basics, as well as factors like drop-off and pick-up times to make sure that recommended programs fit your daily routine. Once we know your child’s age and schedule we can share rates and costs as well.
We’re online Monday - Friday from 8am to 6pm Eastern.
