I have worked within the educational system for 18 years. I began in early childhood education, it is my passion, and I have always wanted to return to my roots. My working career began in travel and tourism. I then transferred to health care as a Facilitator and Coordinator at Dana Farber Cancer Institute. My career then took me to banking in the Commercial Lending Division at Fleet and Sovereign Bank, now (Santander). During this time period I decided to enter the teaching profession so that I could spend more time with my children, go on longer vacations, and have a similar schedule. I have been an educator for 18 years. I first began as a 5th Grade resource teacher and then became a kindergarten teacher / resource kindergarten teacher. I was also a Family Community Field Coordinator for Boston Public Schools. Family involvement and family engagement are important for the development of children. I also incorporate a variety of cultures by having food , cultural days, and reading various books from around the world. I encourage families to get involved through participation.
My program is focused on giving children multiple learning platforms throughout the day. In addition, I use an expeditionary format which harnesses their critical and innovative thinking using technology, hands-on, and exploratory materials. Dramatic play (theatre), water play, painting, music, and dance are all utilized to add arts to the curriculum. It is important for the children to go outside for daily play and fun because outdoor play is necessary for child development. This adds to their growth and social-emotional well-being.
The daycare operates on one entire floor in my home on Mallon Road. We have one room dedicated to activities and play, and a separate room for napping and quiet time. The large eat-in kitchen is perfect for all meal-time and messy activities like arts and crafts and water tables. Families love the fenced-in backyard, with plenty of space to run and play outside every day.

“Anything you can teach in an indoor classroom can be taught outdoors, often in ways that are more enjoyable for children.”
~ Cathy JamesHere’s the inside scoop from other parents that have worked with Ms. Geralyn.
I had the pleasure of both working with Geralyn and having her as my son's K2 teacher at the Early Learning Center in Boston. She was an incredible asset to our school - she just has that touch with young children. For instance, on the first day of school there are often tears; Geralyn could connect with an upset child, and parent, and make everyone feel good about parting ways for the day knowing they're in good hands. Personally, she was fantastic with my son. She has a warm personality, a strong foundation in childhood education, and is great at communicating with parents. We all came to adore and depend on Geralyn, and I am very excited for her to open a program of her own.
As a single mother of 2 working full time in the dental field during this pandemic, I was very worried About what I was going to do with my child when I started back to work, luckily Project Hope kept in touch and helped me get on top of things by introducing me to Geralyn Fagan and I’m so thankful to have her in my daughters life once we came to visit my daughter loved BabyAnnes early childhood program and she seems to continue to love going to school and enjoying our somewhat normal routine. I do encourage more parents to get back out there our kids will love it it will bring so much normalcy back into your life.
Geralyn has supported and guided me and my daughter throughout the last 8 years. She always emphasizes the importance of education and has helped us find and take advantage of the right programs & opportunities for my daughter. She's positive, loving, calming, and always optimistic. I've seen her work with children of all ages and I know she will be an amazing educator and a great support to all the parents in her program. -
Daycare rates depend on how old your child will be and what your schedule looks like. 5 days / week might get a slight discount, and infant rates are usually more than toddlers’. Finding a spot also depends on age and schedule because each daycare has a limited number of openings for each age range.

Your family is unique to you, but some of your questions might not be. 😉 Here’s what most parents want to know when starting out.
Most first-time parents don’t know exactly what they’re looking for, so we created a simple survey that will ask you questions about your lifestyle, your daily routines, and your preferences for child care. We’ll then share 3 personalized recommendations that we think might be a good fit. We’ll also give you a timeline that maps out when we would suggest you start touring programs, choose a daycare, and pay a deposit to secure a spot. Your timeline is based on when you want to start care - so you set the pace, and you decide when you’ve found the right match.
Nope. Our daycare recommendation service is free for parents. The other half of our business is helping these small-scale daycares with software and services that handle all their administrative tasks, like online contracting, payment processing, and licensing requirements. Before NeighborSchools, services like these were only designed for large corporate child care centers, and part of our mission is to level the playing field for small, independent child care programs. That’s why we picked the name NeighborSchools - we’re all about making child care more personal, more human, and more equitable for the incredible individuals who do this work and care for our children.
Generally, if you’re here, you’re ready. The survey lets us give you 3 recommendations to consider, but it’ll also help you better understand what factors to consider, and what questions to be asking right now. It’s simple things like where you live, your child’s date of birth, when you want to start care, and if you have any preferences around program philosophy or language of instruction. If you’re planning 6+ months ahead, it’s a great way to get started, and if you’re hoping to start daycare in the next 2-4 months, it’s definitely time to get started. Click here to start the survey.
Each program has a limited number of spots for each age range, so we need to know your schedule and child’s age before we can share availability. The survey covers these basics, as well as factors like drop-off and pick-up times to make sure that recommended programs fit your daily routine. Once we know your child’s age and schedule we can share rates and costs as well.
We’re online Monday - Friday from 8am to 6pm Eastern.
