When smaller is better, home daycare is the best. Find great options for infants & toddlers near you.
I became a mother 13 years ago and I went to school to study early childhood to be a preschool teacher. My favorite thing about caring for children is watching them explore and discover. That has been a highlight for me throughout my7 years of experience. I have worked as an early childhood educator in daycare centers, and most recently I have been working in my own daycare program. People have said that I create an environment that is comfortable and happy. I focus on building independence, and I especially love to watch them express themselves. I’m proud when I think about all the children I've helped grow and learn. That's what makes this work so special.
I love looking at the world through the eyes of children and being part of their growth and learning every day! I’ve been working with little ones since I was a teenager and have also raised three children of my own. Opening my own home daycare has allowed me to bring twelve years of professional daycare experience to families in my own community – this is so special to me! The very best thing about what I do is being part of so much growth – there is nothing like that smile on a child’s face when they have accomplished a task or the excitement that bubbles up when they are learning something new. This sense of discovery is truly priceless and is what makes me love what I do so much.
Kids have this magical ability to make you see the world differently. They approach each day with joy, enthusiasm, and a sense of adventure—and they share that good energy with those lucky enough to be around them! The best part of my day is welcoming all the children in the morning and seeing their faces light up when they hear what we’re going to do next. Special trips to the library, the zoo, and the museum are a big highlight because they’re so eager to learn new things.
My daughter Adela and I have always dreamed of having our own family child care program. Opening my own child care program in my home gave me the opportunity to create the happy, welcoming environment that I think is so important. I especially love to see them start to walk and talk, but the truth is that so many parts of the day and the week bring me a lot of joy. Through it all, I focus on learning through play. One of the best parts of working with children is watching them explore and discover. The work is incredibly rewarding, especially when I think about how I've prepared children for pre-K. It's such a gift to guide the children in my program as they grow.

Young children are so full of potential. They can do anything they set their minds to, and that journey starts with daycare. Every kid deserves a safe space, somewhere they feel comfortable being themselves and asking questions. They also deserve a mentor or guardian who is going to have their best interests at heart. I’ve always had a knack for looking after kids. I was always the go-to person in the family to babysit. When my niece (age 12) needed a place to live, I was happy to open my home to her. Starting a daycare is my way of offering the children in my community this quality care and helping them with these important first steps.
Childhood is a special time, and a program for little ones should be about play! In my program, we have a lot of fun playing, socializing with each other and learning new things. I began caring for children when a family friend asked me to join her daycare center as a teacher – at the time I had no idea this would lead to my own home program, but I’m so glad it did. I really love creating an environment where kids can feel comfortable, enjoy their time together, and learn something new every day.
Every child is unique and brings something special to our daycare community. I love being around kids and celebrating them for who they are! I was a youth camp counselor for fourteen years, a lifeguard and swim teacher, and then went to college to study education. Now I’m lucky enough to have a home with plenty of space for my own home daycare program! Being able to teach, use my creativity, and serve my community by taking great care of children is a blessing.
Ms. Ashley’s home daycare caters to infants and toddlers, ages 4 months–6 years. As with every daycare on NeighborSchools, her program is licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care. Children and parents love Ms. Olimpia’s daycare for its small-scale, personal feel. Fully licensed by the state, her program focuses on infants and toddlers, and the mixed-age range helps children learn to socialize in a small group setting. Parents often prefer home daycare when looking for options that are closer to home, where they can develop a long-term relationship with the provider. Many come to see the provider as an extension of the family, leaning on them for advice on all sorts of parenting questions. Caretaking is so meaningful, and there are many ways to do it! I am a Mom of two, and have worked as a massage therapist and as a house cleaner. What I loved about both jobs was the feeling of helping others by relieving their physical and mental stress. Then I began working as an assistant in a daycare center, where I still got to do that - with the added bonus of being around kids every day! I’m working toward getting my CDA and I know firsthand how good it feels to know that your children are well taken care of while you work to support them. I’m so happy to give families in my community that kind of peace of mind.

Get your own recommendations based on your preferences, daily routine, and what matters most to you.
Your family is unique to you, but some of your questions might not be. 😉 Here’s what most parents want to know when starting out.
Most first-time parents don’t know exactly what they’re looking for, so we created a simple survey that will ask you questions about your lifestyle, your daily routines, and your preferences for child care. We’ll then share 3 personalized recommendations that we think might be a good fit. We’ll also give you a timeline that maps out when we would suggest you start touring programs, choose a daycare, and pay a deposit to secure a spot. Your timeline is based on when you want to start care - so you set the pace, and you decide when you’ve found the right match.
Nope. Our daycare recommendation service is free for parents. The other half of our business is helping these small-scale daycares with software and services that handle all their administrative tasks, like online contracting, payment processing, and licensing requirements. Before NeighborSchools, services like these were only designed for large corporate child care centers, and part of our mission is to level the playing field for small, independent child care programs. That’s why we picked the name NeighborSchools - we’re all about making child care more personal, more human, and more equitable for the incredible individuals who do this work and care for our children.
Generally, if you’re here, you’re ready. The survey lets us give you 3 recommendations to consider, but it’ll also help you better understand what factors to consider, and what questions to be asking right now. It’s simple things like where you live, your child’s date of birth, when you want to start care, and if you have any preferences around program philosophy or language of instruction. If you’re planning 6+ months ahead, it’s a great way to get started, and if you’re hoping to start daycare in the next 2-4 months, it’s definitely time to get started. Click here to start the survey.
Each program has a limited number of spots for each age range, so we need to know your schedule and child’s age before we can share availability. The survey covers these basics, as well as factors like drop-off and pick-up times to make sure that recommended programs fit your daily routine. Once we know your child’s age and schedule we can share rates and costs as well.
We’re online Monday - Friday from 8am to 6pm Eastern.
Take the survey and get 3 daycare recommendations that fit your preferences. Takes 5 minutes and it’s 100% free for parents.
