When smaller is better, home daycare is the best. Find great options for infants & toddlers near you.
I was an Early Childhood Educator working in a variety of daycare settings. I was also a nanny for 10+ years and is trained to work with children with Special Needs and Disabilities. I have taken many ECE courses including being apart of the of the NAEYC association. I have practiced the Creative Curriculum and also incorporated a lot of hands on learning with children. I am really big on social emotional development, having the child express his or her emotions clearly understanding his or her needs.
Ms. Maureen’s home daycare caters to infants and toddlers, ages 3 months–5 years. As with every daycare on NeighborSchools, her program is licensed by the Office of Early Childhood. That way you know providers have completed a 3-part background record check, and that their home environments have passed a detailed health and safety inspection. Ms. Maureen’s daycare is a great option for parents that want that small-scale, personal feeling with a daycare provider you can develop a real relationship with. Take the survey to see if she has a spot that works for you or check out the full profile for more details.
Children should always be treated with love and care. In my home daycare, every child gets plenty of loving attention. My program is small enough for me to really be there for every child and to listen and offer patience and care to both them and their families. All of my daycare kids bring something special to our little group – themselves! Getting to know them and their caregivers as the days go by is very special, and our group becomes like a big family. We make so many wonderful memories during our time together.
Getting to know these children as they find themselves is such a rewarding experience! Every day, they’re learning new things about the world and who they want to be. This is such a special time in their lives because they’re making new friends and discovering their interests. They’re asking really exciting questions about the way things work. It’s incredible to be even a small part of this stage in their life. I have four grown kids of my own—and one grandchild. In addition to being a mother, I’ve also been running my daycare for ten years. All of this experience has given me a great deal of patience, and as the years go by, I see again and again how much I genuinely love spending time with kids and creating an environment for them to grow in.

It’s so motivating when the children come to the program, energized and eager to take on the day. Their natural penchant for learning encourages everyone around them to look at the world with a similar openness and excitement. After raising two children (who are now adults), I’ve realized my calling is to continue to offer care and support for the kids in my area. Six years ago, I opened my doors to the families in my community, and it’s been the most rewarding experience.
Children and parents love Ms. Norma’s daycare for its small-scale, personal feel. Fully licensed by the state, her program focuses on infants and toddlers, and the mixed-age range helps children learn to socialize in a small group setting. Parents often prefer home daycare when looking for options that are closer to home, where they can develop a long-term relationship with the provider. Many come to see the provider as an extension of the family, leaning on them for advice on all sorts of parenting questions. Check out Ms. Norma’s full profile and take the survey to see if she is a good match for your family.
My favorite thing about caring for children is that they start to show you their little personalities. That has been a highlight for me throughout my 30 years of experience. I am mom and have been running my own program. People have said that I create an environment that is nurturing and happy. I focus on learning through play, and I especially love to sing and dance with them. I’m proud when I think about all the children and families I've impacted over the years. That's what makes this work so special.
There is nothing better than getting to watch a child grow up and knowing you had an impact on their life, no matter how small. Children really benefit from the quality time being spent with them at this stage in their development. After having my second child, I decided I wanted to be a stay-at-home mom, and then I realized I wanted to give local families a chance to provide their kids with personalized care, too. It’s such a joy to provide a comfortable home away from home for these kids.
I became a mom 9 years ago, and I have been caring for children ever since. Opening my own child care program in my home gave me the opportunity to create the encouraging, nurturing environment that I think is so important. I especially love to see them start to walk and talk, but the truth is that so many parts of the day and the week bring me a lot of joy. Through it all, I focus on building independence. One of the best parts of working with children is that they are all different. The work is incredibly rewarding, especially when I think about helping so many children work through their individual challenges and achieve personal gains. It's such a gift to guide the children in my program as they grow.
Daycare programs give families flexibility! As an independent parent, it was very hard to find great, affordable care for my son. That’s what made me decide to create a better childcare option in my community - so other parents wouldn’t have to struggle like I did. My mother had her own daycare, so I grew up surrounded by kids and know a lot about how to care for them. I also worked as an assistant for the Department of Education in New York before relocating. It means a lot to me to provide such a vital service for families in my area!
Every child is special and deserves love, care, and attention. I’m so happy to offer a daycare that is based on Christian values and give kids a loving learning environment. The vision for my program began when I was working as the assistant director for the children’s ministry at my church. I enjoyed this time with the kids so much and began to realize how much more I could give to the little ones in my community if I had more of that time with them! I feel so blessed to have my own home program where I’m able to spread love and positivity to children and their families.

Young children are so excited to learn! At this stage in their development, they’re able to absorb a lot of information, and they’re eager to try new things. That warm and welcoming energy is so inspiring to be around. After graduating with a degree in Early Childhood Education, I taught Spanish for all age ranges, up to the eighth grade. Watching those children progress and take pride in their education was one of the most rewarding experiences, and I’m hopeful that the kids in my program will fall in love with learning, too.
Each daycare provider designs their program based on their unique background & child care experience.

Get your own recommendations based on your preferences, daily routine, and what matters most to you.
Your family is unique to you, but some of your questions might not be. 😉 Here’s what most parents want to know when starting out.
Most first-time parents don’t know exactly what they’re looking for, so we created a simple survey that will ask you questions about your lifestyle, your daily routines, and your preferences for child care. We’ll then share 3 personalized recommendations that we think might be a good fit. We’ll also give you a timeline that maps out when we would suggest you start touring programs, choose a daycare, and pay a deposit to secure a spot. Your timeline is based on when you want to start care - so you set the pace, and you decide when you’ve found the right match.
Nope. Our daycare recommendation service is free for parents. The other half of our business is helping these small-scale daycares with software and services that handle all their administrative tasks, like online contracting, payment processing, and licensing requirements. Before NeighborSchools, services like these were only designed for large corporate child care centers, and part of our mission is to level the playing field for small, independent child care programs. That’s why we picked the name NeighborSchools - we’re all about making child care more personal, more human, and more equitable for the incredible individuals who do this work and care for our children.
Generally, if you’re here, you’re ready. The survey lets us give you 3 recommendations to consider, but it’ll also help you better understand what factors to consider, and what questions to be asking right now. It’s simple things like where you live, your child’s date of birth, when you want to start care, and if you have any preferences around program philosophy or language of instruction. If you’re planning 6+ months ahead, it’s a great way to get started, and if you’re hoping to start daycare in the next 2-4 months, it’s definitely time to get started. Click here to start the survey.
Each program has a limited number of spots for each age range, so we need to know your schedule and child’s age before we can share availability. The survey covers these basics, as well as factors like drop-off and pick-up times to make sure that recommended programs fit your daily routine. Once we know your child’s age and schedule we can share rates and costs as well.
We’re online Monday - Friday from 8am to 6pm Eastern.
Take the survey and get 3 daycare recommendations that fit your preferences. Takes 5 minutes and it’s 100% free for parents.
