16 years ago, Ms. Dachiella moved from Haiti to the United States—today she runs a home daycare in Easton, MA. She also has a 3-year-old son who is getting ready for kindergarten. She hasn’t yet formally worked with children, but is excited to begin. She has completed the required training, with the help of NeighborSchools, and is in school for Early Childhood Education.

Ms. Dachiella and children enjoy arts and crafts time at her home daycare in Easton, MA.
“I like to introduce the kids to different languages and cultures all around the world. And we have fun while learning.” – Dachiella Eyma

When asked what she loves about children, she replies, “What’s not to love!” She sees the innocence and fun in each one of them. She knows family time is incredibly important to children, and so starting a family child care program seemed natural for her to help families bring that feeling to their kids even when they had to work. “When my son was six months old, I had to go back to work and I missed all of the time we had together.” She feels the responsibility she is undertaking and wants to give the highest quality experience she can for the kids. A stable, inviting, and interactive environment is essential to her.

Dachiella is striving to make her program unique by teaching the children diversity. She speaks French and wants to make sure there is an introduction to different languages and cultures. Her favorite activities are painting and arts and crafts. Incorporating this interactive and fun play with diverse learning will be ever present in Dachiella’s program. She wants to teach the children the same way she would teach her own son, where mental growth and interesting ways to learn are vital.

In her home daycare in Easton, Dachiella will have two dedicated rooms—one for play and one for naptime.

Under Massachusetts law, Pepinière de Jardins Fleuris will open as a licensed home daycare through the Massachusetts’ Development of Early Education and Care (EEC). The EEC mandates strict licensing requirements, which include background checks, home inspections, and safety trainings and certifications. By partnering with NeighborSchools, Dachiella has support throughout this process and will continue to receive expert advice in marketing and operating her business.

Dachiella is so happy for the help NeighborSchools has been in this process. She wanted to start a home daycare but had no idea where to start. Upon browsing the internet for answers, she found NeighborSchools and immediately received all of the information and guidance she needed to make her beginning.
