Ms. Amy is a proud mother, an accomplished educator, and the proud owner of Little Big Dreams Family Daycare in Oxford, MA. She’s been working with children since she was in elementary school, but that experience grew into a calling as she pursued a master’s degree in education. She was a Mother’s Helper first, where she learned how to change diapers and play with children, all with their safety in mind. Her passion for caring for children has only grown over the years, and she has been devoted to providing children with appropriate attention and expertise to ensure that they thrive. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in education, focusing on children with special needs. She’s worked as a nanny, in the daycare field, and as a teacher and behavioral therapist.

She’s always wanted to have the highest quality of care in all environments where she has worked, and it was no different when it came to finding care for her own children. Her children, Cole who is 5 months and Nolan who is 2.5 years old, participate in the program as well and have had the structure and schedule of child care since birth. Ms. Amy didn’t want to put her children somewhere with high ratios and the bare minimum of their needs being met. Having such a strong background in development, Ms. Amy knew she needed to start her own in-home child care program. She wanted to include her children in the work she does, while also providing parents with the type of daycare that they can’t get in a larger facility. This includes flexible times for drop off and pick up.
What makes Ms. Amy’s program unique is a number of things. “Child-led engagement is how we operate,” she says. “The children then can feel safe, happy, and learning at a pace where they feel good, not pushed.” She’s incredibly sensitive to making sure parents know their children are being taken care of. “ I make sure to create a second family type of feeling for the children. I’m showing them how to be independent while also creating a huge sense of community.”
