Why are we doing this?
Most home daycares have been closed for nearly three months and many Providers have not been collecting any payment from families during their program’s closure. In Massachusetts and Rhode Island, daycares without state subsidies are receiving no financial assistance.
MA’s Department of Early Education and Care has promised information on distributing free supplies and resources for weeks, but they are still not available. Yet, child care programs across Massachusetts are supposed to start reopening this week.
At NeighborSchools, we believe that Providers like you are incredible business owners that are critical to our economy. You deserve the same resources and benefits as any other small business in their community. Providers should not have to put themselves at financial risk in order to provide safe care to the children in their program.
We are so confident in this belief that we decided to take action by reaching out to our incredible partners at W.B. Mason to offer of Providers some relief so they can focus on getting their homes ready for the children in their neighborhood.
We know that getting PPE is just a drop in the bucket and there are more challenges to overcome. Stay tuned— we’ll be creating and sharing more resources and support for Providers!
