With Thanksgiving just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to start celebrating with the kids and families in your program. There are plenty of ways to add a little holiday spirit to your day-to-day routines. Keep reading to discover some of our favorites.

  • Host a gathering for all of the families in your program. It doesn’t have to be fancy or a full blown feast. Sweet treats during pick-up or a holiday potluck will all do the trick. The important thing is that you’re taking time to say thank you and spend time together. Here’s a little template you can use to help spread the word to families.

  • Do a special holiday craft. The classic handprint turkey is sure to be loved by little ones and families alike. If you’re looking for a project that helps everyone work together, check out the sticky paper turkey

  • Snack time or circle time offer the perfect opportunities to read some Thanksgiving themed books. Whether whimsical or thoughtful, these rhyming and lyrical stories will captivate your audience with their bright colors and fun adventures. Bonus! They also help little ones to understand the true meaning of the holiday in terms they can understand.

No matter how you choose to celebrate. Incorporating traditions into your program creates meaningful memories for all!
