Helping children find their rhythm in life is the most rewarding thing! It’s incredible to meet them when they’re young and watch them keep getting better. During the time that children will be in daycare, they’ll have so many wonderful experiences: the first friends they make, the first time they recognize a word, the first time they remember celebrating a holiday or their birthday. It’s so special to be there for those moments. Even before having my two-year-old daughter, I was always known as the reliable person who loved kids. Within my church community, I was always happy to help local families and babysit. There was one family in particular whose kids I helped raise for over eight years. Those kids changed so much during that time, and it was always a joy to see them grow.
The kids will never be bored here! My program has a lot of engaging and educational activities designed to keep the kids busy and to let them get their high energy out. Arts and crafts, music, reading, and celebrating birthdays are a few things that the children really look forward to. Parents might be interested to know that I have a degree in psychology and then went on to a masters program in elementary education. After my schooling, I had my own daughter, so I have a ton of knowledge and lived experience on the subject of child care that I’m eager to put to good use!
We will work together as partners in creating the best possible care for their children. No one knows a kid better than their own family. Although I’ll treat every child in this program as though they were my own, my hope is that parents and I will always be in close communication about their children’s development and any challenges they may face. For instance, a few years ago, I was taking care of three children for a family. We had been working together for eight years, and we had all built a supportive and trusting relationship. I had noticed one of their children was having difficulty following directions and communicating their feelings effectively without lashing out. After discussing it with the parents, we decided the best course of action was to have the child evaluated. As it turns out, he had special needs that we weren’t previously aware of. Together, we came up with a plan to meet him where he was developmentally, and with a little work and patience, he was thriving in school. Parents should know that I will always have their back in finding the right path for their children.

“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.”
~ Benjamin FranklinHere’s the inside scoop from other parents that have worked with Ms. Lisa.
Lisa is able to engage children to sit and read with her with such ease. She is gifted in so many ways with her ability to calm a child's fears or concerns. I would feel such comfort in leaving my child with Lisa.
Ms. Lisa is wonderful with kids. I know she has a ton of experience with all ages and I am always confident when my child is with her.
Daycare rates depend on how old your child will be and what your schedule looks like. 5 days / week might get a slight discount, and infant rates are usually more than toddlers’. Finding a spot also depends on age and schedule because each daycare has a limited number of openings for each age range.

Your family is unique to you, but some of your questions might not be. 😉 Here’s what most parents want to know when starting out.
Most first-time parents don’t know exactly what they’re looking for, so we created a simple survey that will ask you questions about your lifestyle, your daily routines, and your preferences for child care. We’ll then share 3 personalized recommendations that we think might be a good fit. We’ll also give you a timeline that maps out when we would suggest you start touring programs, choose a daycare, and pay a deposit to secure a spot. Your timeline is based on when you want to start care - so you set the pace, and you decide when you’ve found the right match.
Nope. Our daycare recommendation service is free for parents. The other half of our business is helping these small-scale daycares with software and services that handle all their administrative tasks, like online contracting, payment processing, and licensing requirements. Before NeighborSchools, services like these were only designed for large corporate child care centers, and part of our mission is to level the playing field for small, independent child care programs. That’s why we picked the name NeighborSchools - we’re all about making child care more personal, more human, and more equitable for the incredible individuals who do this work and care for our children.
Generally, if you’re here, you’re ready. The survey lets us give you 3 recommendations to consider, but it’ll also help you better understand what factors to consider, and what questions to be asking right now. It’s simple things like where you live, your child’s date of birth, when you want to start care, and if you have any preferences around program philosophy or language of instruction. If you’re planning 6+ months ahead, it’s a great way to get started, and if you’re hoping to start daycare in the next 2-4 months, it’s definitely time to get started. Click here to start the survey.
Each program has a limited number of spots for each age range, so we need to know your schedule and child’s age before we can share availability. The survey covers these basics, as well as factors like drop-off and pick-up times to make sure that recommended programs fit your daily routine. Once we know your child’s age and schedule we can share rates and costs as well.
We’re online Monday - Friday from 8am to 6pm Eastern.
