I love kids, and I’ve always wanted to open a daycare. I have two kids who are older, and now I’m raising my granddaughter. Some of my passions include cooking and gardening, and I love seeing those activities through her eyes. She has learned a lot about taking care of plants and little details like cleaning up from watching me and helping me, and that feels so rewarding. I want to offer that same excitement and care to other kids as well. I speak English and Spanish and some Italian. In addition to sharing my passions with the children, I will share those languages with them as well.
J&J Daycare includes structured activities and lots of opportunities to learn through experience and discovery. It’s wonderful to see kids express themselves through art activities like painting and drawing. Sometimes these will be with assigned tasks like “draw a picture of your family”, and other times they will be about expression and whatever the kids are thinking and want to create. Music is the same way. There will be lots of music. Sometimes we will sing songs, and other times I will play music and we will sing and dance together but all in our own ways. When it's not cold, we will go outside and work in a little garden. Kids learn and discover so much from planting tomatoes and strawberries and observing them every day. There will also be some more formal learning for the kids in the program, depending on what they need. I speak English and Spanish and a little Italian, so I'll incorporate elements of those languages. My granddaughter is learning all three languages, and I see how wonderful it is for her.
The space is in a separate area of my townhouse, and it’s a little kid’s dream. We use the kitchen on the main floor, and that goes straight out to the backyard. The area for play and activities is downstairs, where I have designated spaces for reading, resting, playing, and more. Then each area has things that make it inviting - a tent, instructional posters, and cubbies built into the wall so each child can have personal space. It’s colorful and happy. When people first walk in, they say, “Oh, I want to be little again!” Kids can tell that the space is for them.

“A child must know that they are a miracle, that since the beginning of the world there hasn’t been, and until the end of the world there will not be, another child like them.”
~ Pablo CasalsHere’s the inside scoop from other parents that have worked with Ms. Yenny.
Yenny is a loving, caring, wonderful person. She takes such good care of my son and he adores her. She teaches him so much and has helped him grow in so many ways. I couldn't be happier with the love and care she gives him everyday, it is like he is home with her.
Yenny is so gentle with children and so patient. If you want someone who treats your children as their own, she is one. You can calmly work your day with no need to worry - Yenny is taking great care of your kids!
Yenny is the total package; it's like having your children right at home. Her care is like the care of a family member. Taking care of children is an art and Yenny definitely has that talent!
Daycare rates depend on how old your child will be and what your schedule looks like. 5 days / week might get a slight discount, and infant rates are usually more than toddlers’. Finding a spot also depends on age and schedule because each daycare has a limited number of openings for each age range.

There are 8 home daycares in Haverhill. Most care for 6 to 10 children and take both infants and toddlers. All home daycares are licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care, just like preschool centers.

Your family is unique to you, but some of your questions might not be. 😉 Here’s what most parents want to know when starting out.
Most first-time parents don’t know exactly what they’re looking for, so we created a simple survey that will ask you questions about your lifestyle, your daily routines, and your preferences for child care. We’ll then share 3 personalized recommendations that we think might be a good fit. We’ll also give you a timeline that maps out when we would suggest you start touring programs, choose a daycare, and pay a deposit to secure a spot. Your timeline is based on when you want to start care - so you set the pace, and you decide when you’ve found the right match.
Nope. Our daycare recommendation service is free for parents. The other half of our business is helping these small-scale daycares with software and services that handle all their administrative tasks, like online contracting, payment processing, and licensing requirements. Before NeighborSchools, services like these were only designed for large corporate child care centers, and part of our mission is to level the playing field for small, independent child care programs. That’s why we picked the name NeighborSchools - we’re all about making child care more personal, more human, and more equitable for the incredible individuals who do this work and care for our children.
Generally, if you’re here, you’re ready. The survey lets us give you 3 recommendations to consider, but it’ll also help you better understand what factors to consider, and what questions to be asking right now. It’s simple things like where you live, your child’s date of birth, when you want to start care, and if you have any preferences around program philosophy or language of instruction. If you’re planning 6+ months ahead, it’s a great way to get started, and if you’re hoping to start daycare in the next 2-4 months, it’s definitely time to get started. Click here to start the survey.
Each program has a limited number of spots for each age range, so we need to know your schedule and child’s age before we can share availability. The survey covers these basics, as well as factors like drop-off and pick-up times to make sure that recommended programs fit your daily routine. Once we know your child’s age and schedule we can share rates and costs as well.
We’re online Monday - Friday from 8am to 6pm Eastern.
