I have been working with young children since my teen years. I have taught and coached swimming and other sports as well as been a day camp counselor and classroom assistant. Upon completing my undergrad I started my teaching career in the Boston Public Schools as a teacher of young children with autism in 2002. After teaching that class for four years I moved on to teaching K1 for four years. At the conclusion of those four years, our school model was shifting to the inclusion model and I began teaching a K0/K1 full-day inclusion program. This is the class I taught until the end of the 2018/2019 school year. Something I loved about my job was watching kids grow over not only our time together but watching them through their elementary school career. Getting to know the kids and families in our school community was something I looked forward to every year! I'm thrilled that this is something I can look forward to as children age in and out of my daycare program. I love having a small group in my home where there is more time for free play, art, exploration, sensory activities as well as social and emotional learning.

We are Wei and JianJun. My wife, JianJun, and I began our Family Child Care program in August of 2019 and have loved it more and more every day. My wife previously worked at a large child care center for a year and a half with more than 100 children enrolled. While there, she found it difficult to provide as high quality of care as she’d like with such high enrollment. We decided to bring her high level of care to children in a smaller setting, thus starting our own family child care program. We have both worked in the academic world for most of our lives and raised a daughter who is now in her early 20’s. JianJun has the Child Development Associate Credential and we are licensed through the EEC. We’ve taken courses in Child Development and continue to study different theories of how best to educate the children. We feel that we are learning just as much as the children are!

I’ve always wanted to work with children. I began my journey with a degree in Early Childhood Education. I then worked in schools, preschools, and daycare centers before deciding to open a smaller daycare of my own. I’ve never wanted to do anything else and now have been working with children for more than 25 years! I love all of the hugging and smiling! But especially, I love that when working with children, I can see them beginning to understand, grow, and learn. It’s the most exciting part of my job!

For more than 20 years, I have worked with children in some capacity or another, including as a preschool teacher and a Spanish teacher at a private school. Some of the young people I once taught are now in college, and nothing makes me happier than hearing from them and seeing how the skills I taught them and qualities I helped instill in them have taken them into adulthood. As a mother and a grandmother, I am very family-oriented. The families who join the program become part of my own. The children I care for call me “Titi” (“Auntie” in Spanish)—and even once they have moved on from my care, their families know they are always welcome to come and visit Titi’s house. I want all children to feel completely comfortable in my home—I love to see them be happy and feel like themselves. If all of “my babies” are good, I’m better.
