Wei and JianJun began their home daycare in Newton MA in August 2019 and have loved it so far. JianJun previously worked at a large daycare center with more than 100 children enrolled. While there, she found that it lacked a high quality of care due to the high enrollment. Together, Wei and JianJun decided to bring a high level of care to children in a smaller setting, and so their home daycare journey began!

BeiBei Cub Daycare in Newton MA provides a loving environment for children - enrolling now! BeiBei Cub Academy in Chestnut Hill provides a loving environment for children.

They have both worked in the academic world for most of their lives and raised a daughter who is now in her early 20’s. JianJun is certified through the CDA and they are also licensed through the EEC. They’ve taken courses in Child Development and continue to study different theories of how best to educate the children. They feel that they are learning just as much as the children are!

The most important aspects of Wei and JianJun’s daycare are love, safety, and education, which one can see in their environment and daily schedule. Throughout the day, they have circle time, reading and storytelling, exploring with toys, outdoor activities, free time or learning depending on the child’s age, along with naps, snacks, and meals. One activity Wei, JianJun, and the children love is dancing and singing, which develops fine and gross motor skills of the children.

They take pride in bringing the children of all ages together to build their social skills and learn how to be part of a team. They also encourage the kids to develop their creative expression through dramatic play, stars, whichever activity they decide to express themselves through. There is a lot of thought given to how to educate the children, and so Wei and JianJun study different angles and theories, from Montessori to Piaget and other contemporary concepts. They watch the children and evaluate their learning progress and how, as providers, they can better teach them. They know that each child is different and therefore respect every stage they are at in their development and want to help them as much as possible. It is a pleasure for Wei and JianJun to teach the children and witness their growth. They use individual education material, and also love to use poetry to develop language, motor, and cognitive skills.

Wei and JianJun have a lot of space in their home, with a big fenced-in backyard with special play area. Their daycare is in the quaint and safe neighborhood of Newton MA. Their home is filled with bright colors and books, colorful and interactive rugs, and gates to separate areas and maintain safety of children. They also have lots of sunshine in the home and keep high quality equipment and toys. There’s a little kitchen for the kids to play in, tables and chairs for reading and storytelling, big stuffed animals, pack and plays, changing tables, everything a child needs to feel safe and have fun. JianJun and Wei feel that the environment is especially important because it’s some of the first sights the children are seeing.

Bonding with the children is the highlight of their program for JianJun and Wei. They’re excited to be partnered with NeighborSchools in order to bring more of that quality time with the children into their lives. “NeighborSchools has been incredibly helpful in the way that their efforts to make connections for us saves us time and energy that we can aim towards the children. We also greatly appreciate the streamlined communication between us and parents!”

Under Massachusetts law, BeiBei Cub Academy has been open as a licensed Family Child Care through the Massachusetts’ Development of Early Education and Care (EEC) since 2019. The EEC mandates strict licensing requirements, which include background checks, home inspections, and safety trainings and certifications.
